Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid, commonly known as PLLA. Once injected, it helps stimulate the body’s natural production of collagen, gradually improving the skin’s structure, firmness and overall quality.

Traditional hyaluronic acid fillers are generally used to provide immediate volume or definition. Sculptra works more gradually by encouraging your skin to produce new collagen. This makes it particularly suitable for patients looking for progressive, subtle and natural-looking rejuvenation.

Many patients require a course of two to three treatment sessions over several months. However, the number of appointments and vials required will depend on your facial structure, degree of volume loss and desired result.

You may experience temporary swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising around the injection sites. Small lumps can occasionally develop beneath the skin. Your practitioner will explain the possible side effects and provide personalised aftercare instructions during your appointment.
